Dr. Cheuk-ching Szeto was born in Canton, China, July 28, 1940. He was born again on April 24, 1955 in Hong Kong at which time he was baptized by Dr. Alton Gould. He changed his name to Paul Szeto to indicate his desire to serve the Lord like the Apostle Paul in the New Testament. He received his B.A. and M.A. degrees from Seattle Pacific University; Master of Divinity degree from Yale University; and Doctor of Missiology from Fuller Theological Seminary. He was called by God to preach the Gospel and gifted in working with people. He was a church planter --- starting new congregations in several areas --- New Haven, Connecticut; Spokane, Washington; and Cerritos, California. He was a dedicated, creative and successful pastor at the Chinese Baptist Church, Seattle, Washington, building a small church of 80 to about 500 worshippers from 1971 to 1978. God blessed that congregation with a large new church complex on Beacon Hill. Dr. Szeto became the President and General Director of Evangelize China Fellowship in 1980. He has preached in more than 36 countries. Under his leadership, ECF was able to return to China and reestablished new and dynamic ministries in evangelism, education, and Christian service. In addition to the existing works in Asia, he established new ministries in Myanmar, Philippines, and USA. He and his wife, Dorcas, a professional Librarian and Christian Educator, celebrated their 30th Wedding Anniversary in July this year. God blessed them with three children --- Tedd, Christine, and Melissa. Tedd is Professor of Mathematics at Azusa Pacific University in Califronia. Christine is married to Anson Yew; both are medical doctors involved in family practice in the Greater Los Angeles areas. Melissa graduated from University of Washington with two B.A. degrees in American Ethnic Studies and International Studies. Dr. Szeto participates widely in various inter-denominational as well as international Christian ministries, net-working with a number of evangelical organizations for the fulfillment of the Great Commission and the evangelization of the world. He is deeply committed to lead ECF International into the 21st Century with a dyanmic worldwide ministry. |
