Dr. Andrew Gih was born in 1901 in Shanghai, China. He accepted Jesus Christ at age 22 and was called into the Gospel ministry at age 25. He married Dorcas Chang in 1928 in Shanghai, China.

After preaching several years in various parts of China, Dr. Gih founded Evangelize China Fellowship in Shanghai in 1947. When the government changed in China, he moved the ECF ministry to Hong Kong and Taiwan in 1949. With the field office being set up in Los Angeles in 1956, Andrew Gih was able to continue his evangelistic ministry. In just a gew years, the Gospel ministry of ECF had expanded to Malaysia, Indonesia, Macau, and the United States with orphanages, schools, seminaries, and churches. Most of these works are now self-supporteing, self-governing, and self-propagating under national leadership. Some even sent out missionaries to serve in other cultures. He received honorary Litt D. degree from Cascade College, Portland, Oregon, USA in 1950. And he also received the F.R.G.S. honor from the Royal Geographical Society of Great Britain in 1951. Dr. Gih traveled the world. He retired from the active ECF ministry in 1978 when he was approaching his 80th birthday. He spent lots of time in writing. He entered the Temple Community Hospital on January 30th 1985 and went through an operation on stomach cancer. He left this world peacefully on February 13, 1985 about 6:30 in the morning. Funeral services were held on February 23, 1985 (Saturday) at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Church of the Recessional, Glendale, California.

Dr. Gih had lived 85 long years on earth. Please continue to pray for Mrs. Gih who is now 91 years of age and living in San Francisco area with her relatives.
